Welcome To My Sports Page!

My passion for sports photography started off when I was given my first Samsung 10.1 mp camera where all I wanted to do is take a picture of a goal. But how can something so simple be so complicated? I still ask that question to this day even with how far I have progressed since owning that compact camera back in 2007. Not only has my interest in sports imagery has grown but my knowledge and understanding. In order to photograph a sporting event, you must understand it. Football has always been a huge part of my life but since covering Rugby, Cricket, Snooker, Swimming, and Trampolining, I now have an amazing understanding of these sports but even with football which I have a vast knowledge of, you never stop learning new things.

In this sector, you will find my own personal blogs of some of the new things I have learned as well as look back and reflect on the old plus the odd football talk as I have a fondness for football politics.

“It’s our lives, our passion, and our religion. It’s in our blood! You can’t escape it. No matter who you support, your team is a part of you for the rest of our lives.”

Pure Emotion

You can’t replicate emotion. Pure emotion comes from the heart of a moment. It is also gone in seconds and so how do we capture that moment of pure joy or dejection?

Frisbee, The Surprise Sport

Frisbee, also known as disc tossing, is more than just a pastime; it's a way to unleash your inner athlete while basking in the sunshine! Originating in the 1950s, this sport has morphed from casual beach fun to competitive tournaments. The basic concept is simple: two or more players throw a disc back and forth, aiming to catch it without letting it hit the ground.

World Frisbee Championship: A Capture of Epic Proportions

The sun blazed down on the fields of laughter and cheers, where the annual World Frisbee Championship was kicking off like a summer party on steroids. Athletes from around the globe gathered, their bright jerseys gleaming in the sunlight as they showcased the kind of athleticism that makes you question your life choices—like that time you thought binge-watching would get you fit.

Cameras snapped away, capturing miraculous mid-air catches that defied both gravity and common sense. The players danced, jumped, and dove with the grace of gazelles—or at least gazelles in extremely competitive sports mode—and each throw was an orb of pure magic soaring through the sky.

The scent of popcorn and the occasional whiff of sunscreen filled the air as onlookers settled in with picnic blankets, ready to witness the aerial ballet unfold before their eyes. Children chased after stray discs, their giggles echoing like the soundtrack to a sunny day.

As matches intensified, so did the stakes. Rivalries formed and friendships tested, all under the banners of unity and spirited competition. Teams displayed dazzling tricks that would make even the most experienced dog trainer weep with envy. We watched in awe as discs sliced through the air with precision that even NASA would admire.

Each team brought their unique flair to the game, with costumes ranging from superhero capes to reflective disco gear, proving that while skills matter, looking fabulous while flying is key. High-fives and fist bumps were exchanged after every point, a testament to the camaraderie that filled the atmosphere like cotton candy at a fair.

Between matches, the crowd was treated to side events like frisbee golf and "freestyle jam," where performers bent and twisted like pretzels, making us all wonder how we ever thought slouching on the couch was a good idea.

As the finals approached, the sun dipped low, setting the sky ablaze with colors that would make a sunset jealous. In a nail-biting finish that had us all on the edge of our seats, one team claimed the title, their victory captured in a flurry of confetti and joyous screams.

The championship not only showcased the sport but also reminded everyone that frisbee isn’t just a game—it’s an attitude, a lifestyle, and occasionally, an exercise in avoiding unintended faceplants. If there’s one thing we learned this year, it’s that when the world comes together over a flying disc, anything is possible.

And as the last disc sailed into the twilight, I packed my camera with a heart full of memories, ready to tell the tales of epic frisbee feats and the quirky crew who made it all happen. Here's to next year's championship—may it be even more vibrant, epic, and just a little zanier!

Gather your friends and a frisbee, and you’re ready for some good old-fashioned fun and exercise. Just remember: it’s not just a game; it’s an official excuse to chase after a flying disc with wild abandon!
