Well what can I say about the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. I am a talker but when it comes to explaining about the North Rim, no words can explain the feeling I had when I first saw this view from the Grand Canyon Lodge. It was breathe taking! Now for me as a photographer, how can I portray this feeling. The answer is, I can’t! No photo can give this vision justice. You have to see it for yourself but I can try. It’s all about timing of the light. To be honest, I thought I was too late and had missed my lighting and colours but then suddenly the light started to creep through the Canyon creating a sliver of light which then crept onto the mountain peaks creating a beautiful 3D effect from the shadows. You couldn’t plan it any better. So the question is, how do you get something different from one of the most photographed landscapes on the planet? Lighting and timing!
